Drugs Driving Building Site Theft
At 11.34am on Sunday 8th of December another hot water system was stolen from a building site, another hot water system with a GPS tracking device installed, another offender arrested, another day before a magistrate.
The Impressions Homes site in Evelyn Street, Gosnells was subject to the theft after an installed hot water system was removed from an exterior wall. Evidence suggested that the offender/s were on push bikes. As PACT Site Security investigators tracked the hot water system through Gosnells and Huntingdale the route taken suggested our assumptions were correct.
After 26 minutes the offender arrived at a residential address in Huntingdale. Investigators liaised with local police and a search warrant was executed at the address a short time later. The hot water system was quickly located along with a large quantity of drugs and other stolen property.
Police arrested an adult male on multiple charges including receiving the stolen hot water system, it would appear that the bike riding bandit had stolen the hot water system to use as payment for drugs.
Inquiries are continuing with police to locate residential CCTV along the route taken by the bike riding offender to the final destination.
The use of stolen property for the purchase of drugs is common place throughout the community and in this case, not only has PACT Site Security recovered stolen property for our client but has identified a drug dealer who will now face court on multiple charges and hopefully think twice before receiving stolen property from building sites again! We are guessing he is not to very happy with the bike riding bandit either!
